The Meghalaya ECD Mission is pleased to announce the release of the Training Calendar for Brain Development Module 3. This module builds upon the foundational concepts covered in Modules 1 and 2, focusing on advanced techniques for promoting cognitive development in children aged 0-3 years.

Training Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the science of early brain development and critical periods
  • Demonstrate 'Serve and Return' interactions with practical examples
  • Identify developmental delays using GMCD assessment tools
  • Counsel parents on age-appropriate stimulation activities
  • Support children with developmental concerns through early intervention referrals

Training Schedule by District

The training will be rolled out in phases across all districts:

  • Phase 1 (Feb 1-10): East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi
  • Phase 2 (Feb 11-20): West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, South West Khasi Hills
  • Phase 3 (Feb 21-28): West Garo Hills, East Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills

Registration Process

All participants must be nominated by their respective CDPOs. The nomination list should be submitted to the District Program Officer by January 25, 2026. Each batch will have a maximum of 30 participants to ensure quality interactions.

Pre-Training Requirements

Participants are expected to:

  • Complete Modules 1 and 2 certification
  • Review the pre-reading materials (available in Resources section)
  • Bring their GMCD assessment kits to the training
